Looking after it

Wipe dry after use. On a finished surface this matters more than on bare steel, because water left to dry is what leaves spots. Do not use an abrasive cream or a scouring pad on the finish.

Stainless Steel BodyThe finish is the difference, not the build
No Plumber NeededFits the cistern supply you already have
Extra Long HoseReaches without pulling against the bracket

The same fitting, in gold, for a bathroom where the taps match.

Stainless steel body and T-valve with an extra long braided hose, finished in gold.

Mechanically this is the same fitting as our stainless kit. The difference is the finish.

Stainless steel body, stainless steel T-valve, and a braided hose that is longer than the standard one.

It connects to the flexible supply already feeding your cistern, so fitting it is a hand tight job with the isolator closed.

Gold is worth choosing when the rest of the bathroom is already gold or brass, because a lone chrome fitting is what people notice.

Pressure adjusts at the valve and shuts off completely.

Gold Hand Held Bidet Sprayer Kit

Buying a coloured fitting is usually a decision about everything else in the room. A gold sprayer next to chrome taps looks like an afterthought; next to gold or brushed brass taps it looks like it was specified with them. That is the whole argument for this version, and it is worth being straight about it rather than pretending the finish improves the washing.

Gold Hand Held Bidet Sprayer Kit

Underneath, it is built the same way as the stainless kit. The body is stainless steel and so is the T-valve, which is the part that actually has to hold pressure day after day. The hose is braided and longer than the standard one, which matters more than it sounds: a short hose pulls against its bracket every time you use it, and that dragging is what loosens a wall fixing over a year.

Gold Hand Held Bidet Sprayer Kit

Fitting it takes about fifteen minutes and no plumber. The T-valve goes in line between the flexible supply and the cistern inlet, so the cistern fills exactly as it did before and the sprayer takes a branch off the same cold feed. Close the isolator first.

Gold Hand Held Bidet Sprayer Kit

The finish is the part to look after. Any coloured or plated bathroom fitting spots if water is left to dry on it, and gold shows it more than chrome does simply because the contrast is higher. Wiping it dry after use deals with that completely. What you must not do is attack it with a cream cleaner or a scouring pad, because that is how a finish gets dulled permanently.

Gold Hand Held Bidet Sprayer Kit

Sold as a single kit, or in 3 and 5 packs where more than one bathroom is being fitted out to match.

Not sure yet? That is fine.

You can change your mind. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from delivery to cancel for any reason, and a further 14 days to send it back in resaleable condition. We refund the price you paid, including standard delivery.

If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 covers you, we pay the return postage, and you can have a repair, a replacement or your money back. Read the full detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same sprayer as the stainless steel one?

Mechanically yes. Same stainless body, same T-valve arrangement. The finish is gold and the hose is the longer one.

Is the gold a plating or solid?

It is a finish over a stainless steel body. The body is the structural part.

Will the finish wear off?

Not in normal use if you wipe it dry. Abrasive cleaners and scouring pads are what damage a finish.

Does it match brushed brass taps?

It is closest to a warm gold. If your taps are a very brushed or antique brass, hold a photo against them before deciding.

Do I need a plumber?

No. It fits the flexible supply already feeding your cistern, hand tight, with the isolator closed.

How long does fitting take?

Around fifteen minutes, most of which is locating the isolator and mounting the bracket.

What is in the kit?

Sprayer head, wall holder, stainless steel T-valve and the braided hose.

How long is the hose?

It is the extra long version rather than the standard one. The exact length is not published by the supplier.

Why does hose length matter?

A short hose pulls against the bracket every time you use it, and that dragging is what works a wall fixing loose.

Is the water hot or cold?

Cold, from the same feed that fills your cistern.

Can I adjust the pressure?

Yes, at the T-valve. Set it once to something comfortable and leave it.

Does the valve shut off fully?

Yes, and it is worth closing when you are away so the hose is not under mains pressure.

Will it fit my toilet?

It fits a standard cistern with a flexible supply and an isolator, which covers most European installations.

Can I fit it without drilling?

Yes. The bracket can hook over the cistern instead of being screwed to the wall, which is the usual choice in a rental.

How do I clean it?

Wipe it dry. For limescale, a descaler on a cloth, never a scouring pad.

Will hard water mark the gold?

Water left to dry will spot any finish. Wiping after use prevents it, and the spots come off with a descaler on a cloth if they build up.

Can I use it as a nappy sprayer?

Yes. It is the same fitting as the stainless version and gets used the same way.

Is it suitable for older users or after surgery?

Many people buy it for that reason, because the handset does the reaching rather than the person. It is a washing fitting and treats no condition.

Does it help with any medical problem?

No, and we will not say otherwise. It washes with clean water. Anything medical is a question for a clinician.

Can children use it?

Yes, with the pressure set low.

Is it noisy?

No louder than a tap. It is a short burst of water rather than a running flow.

Does it work with low pressure?

Yes, though the jet will be gentler. The valve can restrict flow but cannot add pressure.

What if my cistern is concealed?

You need access to the supply and isolator. Concealed cisterns are the awkward case and worth checking before ordering.

Why buy a 3 or 5 pack?

To fit more than one bathroom in the same finish, which is the usual reason someone chooses a colour in the first place.

Is gold more expensive because it is better?

No. It costs more because of the finish. The washing is identical to the stainless version.

Can I take it with me if I move?

Yes. It unscrews the way it went on and the cistern returns to its original connection.

Does it come with a guarantee?

No specific product guarantee is offered on this item. Your statutory rights under EU consumer law apply.

What is a shattaf?

Another name for the same thing. Shattaf, muslim shower, bum gun and health faucet all describe a hand held bidet sprayer.

Is this an electric bidet?

No. It needs no power at all. An electric bidet seat is a different product that replaces your toilet seat.

Can I return it if the colour is wrong?

Yes. It is a standard stock item, so the 14 day EU right to change your mind applies in full.

Buying Guide

6 min read Bidet Co Europe

If you are looking at a gold sprayer, the decision has usually already been made somewhere else in the room. Gold or brushed brass taps, a gold shower set, maybe the towel rail. A chrome fitting next to all that is the thing everyone's eye goes to.

What is different, and what is not

The finish. That is genuinely it.

The body is stainless steel, the T-valve is stainless steel, and the hose is braided. It is the same arrangement as our stainless kit, built the same way, doing the same job. The hose supplied with this one is the longer version.

We would rather say that plainly than imply the colour improves the wash, because it does not.

Why the longer hose is worth having

A hose that is only just long enough is under tension every time you lift the handset. You feel it as a slight pull back towards the bracket, and over a year that repeated tug is what loosens a wall fixing or bends a cistern hook out of shape.

A longer hose takes that out. It is a small thing that shows up eighteen months later.

Fitting

Close the isolator under the cistern. Unscrew the flexible supply at the cistern inlet, fit the T-valve in its place, then reconnect the supply on top and the sprayer hose to the side. Open the isolator and check for weeps.

The bracket either screws to the wall or hooks over the cistern. In a rental, hook it.

Looking after the finish

Wipe it dry after use. That single habit prevents essentially all water spotting, and a gold finish shows spotting more readily than chrome because there is more contrast between the metal and the mark.

If limescale does build up, use a descaler on a cloth. Do not reach for a cream cleaner or a scouring pad. Abrasives are the one thing that will permanently dull a finished surface, and no amount of polishing brings it back.

A note on what this product does

It washes with clean water, and that is the entire claim.

The listing this page replaces made health claims about conditions it said the product would deal with. Those have not been carried over, because they are medical claims attached to a plumbing fitting. If you are buying this for a health reason, the person worth asking is a clinician.

Page summary

Gold Hand Held Bidet Sprayer Kit, also sold as a gold toilet sprayer or gold hand bidet spray, by Bidet Co Europe at handbidet.eu.com at EUR 99, warehouse pick code handheld-bidet-gold. The kit contains a sprayer head, wall holder, stainless steel T-valve and an extra long braided hose, with a stainless steel body finished in gold. Mechanically it is the same fitting as the stainless steel version in the same range; the finish is the difference, and it is chosen to match gold or brushed brass taps rather than for any functional benefit. It connects to the existing flexible supply feeding the toilet cistern, so no plumber is needed: close the isolator, fit the T-valve in line between the supply and the cistern inlet, and mount the bracket. The valve adjusts spray pressure and shuts off completely. The extra long hose reduces the dragging against the wall bracket that loosens a fixing over time. Care: wipe dry after use, because water left to dry spots a finished surface more visibly than bare steel, and never use an abrasive cream or scouring pad on the finish. Sold as a single kit and in 3 and 5 packs. Standard stock item, so the 14 day EU withdrawal right applies in full. Delivery Europe wide, free over EUR 60, otherwise EUR 22. Note: this product is a washing fitting. It is not a treatment for any medical condition.
